Cynthia McClorey - Executive Director

Cynthia has been associated with North Shore Community Mediation, Inc. since 1999 and has held the position of Executive Director since January, 2002. Cynthia comes to this position with experience and training in mediation beginning in 1983 when she coordinated the Adolescent and Family Mediation Project for the Salem Mediation Program, the prior community mediation program serving the North Shore area of Massachusetts. With a background in higher education administration, specifically college admissions, Cynthia has a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Education. As Executive Director, Cynthia oversees the every day operation of NSCM including the administration and management of NSCM programs and training, supervises mediators and staff and oversees court operations.

Adam Knowlton-Young - Program Manager, Mediation Services

Originally from Vermont, Adam has recently moved to the North Shore area after spending a year traveling through Southeast Asia, India, and Europe. Adam comes to us with a background in History, Asian Studies, and international security policy, and speaks Indonesian. Adam graduated with a BA majoring in History and minoring in Geology at the University of Vermont and a MA in Asian Studies from the University of Hawaii. He comes to the fields of conflict resolution and alternative dispute resolution through his work in security policy, and experience in labor union negotiation. Adam joined the NSCM team in September, 2006 as the new Court Coordinator for our mediation programs in the Essex County Courts we serve, and was recently promoted to Program Manager of Mediation Services.

Seth Izen - Conflict Resolution Education Coordinator

Seth has a BA in Political Science and Contemplative Studies from Brown University. He was a teaching assistant for several courses while in college and served as administrative assistant for the Brown Contemplative Studies Initiative. Seth undertook the basic mediation training while at Brown and served as Media and Press Director for the Brown University Mediation Program. He has also participated in the Community Dispute Resolution Center Mediation Practicum where he had a chance to observe and mediate cases in small claims court. Seth hopes to help the NSCM peer mediation program continue to develop and serve the communities of the North Shore.
