President

Josiah Morrill, Newburyport

Si has worked in the insurance field for more than 20 years, most recently as a Senior Financial Representative. Si has also been active in civic affairs in his community including membership in the Board of Selectmen, Zoning Board of Appeals, Personnel Committee and Finance Committee.

Treasurer

Bruce Lefenfeld, Beverly

With training and experience as an accountant, Bruce brings financial expertise to the Board. Bruce has been active in Beverly youth sports and has served on the Board of Haven for Hunger.

Clerk/Secretary

Peter Gilmore, Beverly

Peter is an attorney with Gilmore and Jacobowitz, a firm of attorneys and mediators in Beverly. His legal practice is focused on Estate Planning and Administration and his private mediation work is with family conflicts. Peter has been an active volunteer with the Beverly Council on Aging, Beverly Lions Club, North Shore United Way, City of Beverly Conservation Commission, and the Community Oriented Policing Leadership Council. He has also held leadership positions with the Abraham Glovsky Unit of B’nai B’rith and Temple B’nai Abraham. Peter served for six years as a member of the Beverly City Council including two years as President. He is a member of the Essex County and Salem Bar Associations and the Essex Estate Planning Council.

Jean Deschene, Salem

Jean, a trained social worker, paralegal and recipient of a graduate certificate in Dispute Resolution, teaches at North Shore Community College and works for North Shore Medical Center. Jean was a member of the Conflict Intervention Team of the Attorney General’s Office, trained in Elder Mediation and has been a NSCMC Board member since 1999.

James Latham, Beverly Farms

Jim is an attorney from Beverly Farms, with 26 years of experience dealing with a wide range of domestic and international legal matters for ITT Sheraton Corporation and Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Jim has used his considerable legal and financial expertise to volunteer with LifeTimeChoice, Inc. and New Horizons Project

Eve Noss, Beverly

Eve, finishing her doctorate dissertation in the field of peer mediation, teaches social work at Salem State College and is a Peer Mediation trainer for NSCMC. Eve is active in her community serving as a member in the League of Women Voters and other civic organization.

Norman J. Sherman, Marblehead

An attorney from Marblehead, Norm is also a certified mediator specializing in family mediation. With a background in science and education and experience in public relations and media, Norm is an active faculty member with the Massachusetts Continuing Education Legal Education Family Mediation Program and a trainer for the NSCMC Peer Mediation and Basic Mediation Trainings. Norm was instrumental in developing and implementing a divorce mediation program at the Essex County Probate and Family Court in Salem and is a member of the Massachusetts and Essex County Bar Associations. A member of NSCMC since 1999, Norm has previously served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer from1999-2002.
